Whirling vibrations

The Whirling vibration application is able to check the shaft line for vibrations due to the rotation of the shaft line and the hydrodynamic effects of the propeller. The free (undamped) vibration calculations are available in this application.

Advantages:

• The vibration model can be extracted directly from the Base Model.


• Automatic estimation for both diametric and polar inertia of components such as propellers, gear wheels or flanges.


• Automatic estimation for 'entrained water properties' of the propeller. The 'entrained water properties' contain the mass and inertia of the water surrounding the propeller.


• All results of the calculation are graphically summarized in a Campbell Diagram.
